Artist in Residence - Glenys Lindner
""I’m an enthusiastic hobbyist. I developed an interest in bookbinding during my first fulltime job as a Table hand in a Bindery. During this time I learned rudimentary bookbinding functions, I’ve now built on those skills and started creating books. I take a great deal of pleasure in turning everyday items into lovely books. Following on from the A5 breakaway spine journal I’ll be teaching participants how to bind a book using Egyptian ancient Coptic sewing techniques. We’ll be using watercolour paper so you can use it to create beautiful works of art. The only skills needed are a good listening ear and a willingness to learn, everything else is provided. During our session I’ll talk about bookbinding styles and materials; I’ll give you a guide and together we’ll create a simple A5 watercolour journal for you to take home. Hopefully, you can join me and together we’ll create a journal you will be proud of.""
