My Favorite Paints!

A flat lay of my personal paint sets.
If you ask any artist you know, what their favorite paints are to use, their answers would most likely be different. It is a very personal thing, that develops and changes over time. And I am sure in a years time I will add and take away items in my must have's list.
At the moment, for myself, these are my favorite paints that are always at an arms reach! One thing I know is, a beautiful colour, a deep pigment and a good quality tube makes the process incredibly more enjoyable! As you develop your art practice your preferences for brands and styles of paints will evolve.
So without further ado, here is a list of my fav's and reasons why I love to use them:
1. Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours
2. Art Philosophy "Complexion" Set
3. Winsor & Newton Watercolours
4. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (Winsor & Newton Pens are good too)
Winsor & Newton Paints and Zig Clean Color Pens
5. Prismacolor and Derwent Inktense Watercolour Pencils
6. Holbein Artists Acrylic Gouache
7. Winsor & Newton Watercolour Gouache/watercolours (Also love Daniel Smith brand)
Watercolour pencils, acrylic gouache and tube paints
There are so many brands and different types of paints to choose from. My suggestion if shop around your local art shops or check out my online art supplies. With paints, you get what you pay for. So look at your budget and buy the best YOU can afford at the time. But, you don't need to spend a fortune to paint, there are many lovely sets for under $20 if you are just starting out. Less is also more. Don't try and buy one of every colour. Select a few key colours you know you will use. Don't be afraid to experiment with other brands and colours too. You may surprise yourself and find something special! But, the most important thing is to have fun!
I hope this helps you choose some beautiful paints. Please don't be shy, if you have any questions send me a DM on socials or email me.
Much Love,
Sarah
